The bathtub rests on springs so that it may bounce or tilt with the rest of the mattress. It is complete with hot and cold running water and a working drain.
The Waterbed was installed at the Left Bank Gallery in Kansas City. During the opening of "Four Faiths," a group exhibition, models demonstrated the sculpture. One model took a bubble bath; the other slept through the reception.
